Going Global at Work

In this issue, we explore the many meanings of Going Global at Work – businesses that
belong to newcomers or employ immigrants and refugees, export products and services, or
are aware of the global impact of what happens at home and want to make the world a
better place. As bh discovered, however, going global ultimately means focusing local and is
within reach of individuals and businesses wherever they may be. We also learn once again
that technology changes lives and alters the value of benefits. With new diagnostic tools,
optometrists are not only able to provide vision care, but can also detect early signs of
underlying conditions, opening a gateway to better health and productivity. bh
