Focusing on People. Building Community.

A focus on employees is essential for building and sustaining a successful business but how is business success connected to community building?

The Guest Editorial identifies the value of “putting people first and creating culture of trust”. The Great Place to Work® Institute is, at its core, an organization dedicated to building a better society by helping companies transform their workplaces.

In the View from the Top interview, the president of a construction company, recognized as one of Canada’s Best Workplaces, lists having a positive impact on the community as one of the company’s core values. He talks about the importance of fostering leaders at all levels of the organization and his belief in the power of culture to increase the impact of purpose and talent.

Our Bottom Line article tells an inspiring story of the 2013 Calgary flood, illustrating how an organization with a culture of supporting local, national and international communities was able to respond to a natural disaster at its own office and support the community at the same time.

In the Doctor on Call and Disease Management articles, you will find out about Psoriasis, a devastating disease that can isolate individuals and affect all areas of their lives. You will also learn of new therapies that allow people to become fully functioning, productive members of society.
